Two ways to deliver

Priced per minute of running time, shown before you pay

Subtitled

£3 / minute

minimum £10 · rounded up to the next minute

  • Speech transcribed with word-level timing, translated through the same engine as your documents - glossary included.
  • Delivered as an SRT in the target language plus the original-language transcript.
  • Optional: a copy of the video with the subtitles burned in, no extra charge.

Dubbed

£7 / minute

minimum £20 · rounded up to the next minute

  • The speech regenerated in the target language in a voice synthesised from each original speaker. Music and background sound kept.
  • Your picture untouched - the new audio is placed on your original video, not a re-encode.
  • Delivered with subtitle files in both languages and an AI-audio disclosure.

What to expect

Honest about the limits

Dubbing works best with a single clear speaker. Lips are not altered - the new voice is synthesised from the original speaker's, so it won't match the mouth movements. Background music and people talking over each other reduce the quality.

Names, numbers and technical terms are worth checking against the video before you publish - subtitles and dubs are AI output, not a human translation, and neither is covered by the formatting guarantee that applies to Word, Excel and PowerPoint files.

Consent before any dub

Dubbing synthesises a real person's voice, so before payment you tick this, and we store it with the job:

“I have the rights to this video and the consent of every speaker in it to synthesise their voice in another language.”

Every dubbed video is delivered with the disclosure “This video contains AI-synthesised speech: the original speaker's voice was regenerated in the target language.” The dubbing project is deleted from our voice vendor as soon as your files are stored with us.

FAQ

Questions people actually ask

What do I get back?

Subtitled: an SRT subtitle file in the target language, a transcript of the original speech as SRT, and - if you tick the box - a copy of the video with the subtitles burned in. Dubbed: your video with the speech regenerated in the target language, plus the same two subtitle files, cut to the same short, readable cues as the subtitle tier.

Whose voice is on the dub?

A voice synthesised from each speaker in your video, so it sounds like them speaking the new language. Lips are not altered - this is a voice dub, not a lip-synced re-shoot - so the mouth movements won't match. Background music and sound are kept.

What does it cost?

Per minute of running time, rounded up to the next whole minute: £3 per minute subtitled (minimum £10), £7 per minute dubbed (minimum £20). A 12 min 34 s video bills as 13 minutes - £39 subtitled or £91 dubbed. The running time and both prices are shown before you pay. Video isn't covered by the free 200 words or by monthly plan allowances.

Why do I have to confirm consent?

Dubbing clones a real person's voice. Before we start, you confirm you hold the rights to the video and have every speaker's consent to have their voice synthesised in another language - we store that confirmation with the job. If you can't confirm it, choose subtitles.

What videos work best?

One clear speaker, close to the microphone, little background noise. Interviews and two-person conversations work; a busy panel, heavy music or people talking over each other lowers the quality of both the transcript and the dub. Up to 30 minutes and 500 MB per video - split a longer recording into parts.

Which languages can be dubbed?

49 of our 50 languages, including English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Polish, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Hindi and Arabic. Serbian can be subtitled but not yet dubbed - the quote card says so when you pick the language.

Is the translation done with my glossary?

The subtitle files, yes - both tiers get them from the same translation engine as your documents, glossary included on Professional and Business plans. The spoken dub is different: its translation is produced by the dubbing engine, and your glossary's source terms are passed to it as key terms to bias transcription and translation toward, but exact target wording isn't enforced. So on a dubbed job the subtitles and the spoken words can be worded slightly differently.

Is the output labelled?

Yes. Subtitle files are AI translations and are labelled as such; a dubbed video contains AI-synthesised speech and is delivered with that disclosure, which you should keep when you publish it. There's no human review in the loop - check names, numbers and technical terms against the video before you publish.
