FAQ
Questions people actually ask
How is a Word document translated without breaking the formatting?
We translate inside the document's own XML structure rather than extracting the text and pasting it back. Headings, tables, styles, headers and footers stay exactly where they were - only the words change.
Do you support the older .doc format?
Not yet - we currently support .docx, the format Word has used since 2007. If your file is an older .doc, open it in Word and use File > Save As to convert it to .docx first.
What happens to tracked changes and comments?
The document is translated as it stands. If you need a clean version, accept or reject any tracked changes before uploading - the translation reflects the document exactly as submitted.
What if the formatting comes back broken?
That's the one thing we guarantee: if the formatting is materially broken by our processing, the job is free. See the guarantee below.
The guarantee
Your document comes back with its formatting exactly intact - or the job is free.
Broken tables and mangled layouts are the most common complaint about every translation tool on the market. We translate inside the document's own structure, so there is nothing to rebuild and nothing to fix.
