Questions people actually ask
Why isn't PDF available yet?
PDF translation works by converting your PDF to an editable document, translating it, and rebuilding it back into a PDF. In testing, that round trip can visibly disturb the layout of dense, real-world documents - the opposite of what we promise. We'd rather withhold it than ship it broken.
What can I use today?
DOCX (Word) documents, with formatting translated inside the document's own structure and guaranteed intact. If you can save your PDF as a DOCX first (most PDF and word processing tools can do this), you can translate it today.
Will you support scanned PDFs?
Scanned or image-only PDFs need OCR (text recognition) first, which isn't built yet either. It's on the roadmap alongside selectable-text PDF support.
What will it cost?
The same rate as everything else: £8 per 1,000 words, £5 minimum, first 500 words free. We'll email everyone on this list as soon as it's live.
